💙 WHY COBALT BLUE?

Cobalt-blue glass was intentionally chosen as the foundation of this collection.

Cobalt-blue glass selectively absorbs and transmits different wavelengths of visible light, creating its extraordinary deep-blue appearance.

Therefore, light passing through cobalt-blue glass is spectrally different from light passing through ordinary clear glass.
 

This relationship immediately fascinated us:

LIGHT → COLOR → GLASS → WATER

Blue also has a long history of association with water, tranquility, calmness, communication, clarity, cooling, expression, depth, balance, and flow.

From the appearance of oceans and deep bodies of water to the blue sky above us, blue has become one of the colors most strongly associated with water and our natural environment.

For ESA Vitality, cobalt blue represents depth, clarity, communication, water, and Etheric Flow.
 

💎 WHY GLASS?

We wanted the vessel itself to be an important part of the design.

Glass is nonporous, reusable, recyclable, chemically resistant, and easy to clean. When properly maintained, it is also highly resistant to retaining flavors and odors.

Unlike many packaging systems, glass can hold drinking water without requiring an interior plastic lining.

Most importantly for this collection, glass allows light to pass through the vessel.

The cobalt coloring then selectively filters that light before it reaches the water inside.

That gives us a real physical interaction between:

LIGHT + COBALT GLASS + WATER

And that physical relationship becomes the starting point for our broader exploration.
 

☀️ BLUE GLASS + LIGHT + WATER

Blue glass has also been incorporated into alternative water practices sometimes described as Blue Solar Water.

These practices generally involve placing water inside a blue glass vessel and exposing the vessel to natural sunlight.

Different alternative-wellness philosophies have proposed that this interaction between blue glass, sunlight, and water may affect the energetic qualities of the water.

Those proposed energetic effects have not been scientifically or medically established.
